Tune-spiration
Music to lift your spirits
I think it began with the weekly singing sessions we had at school- that time in the hazy past when the main hall would resonate with piano music and voices from students of various grades would mingle with the crisp morning air. Or it may have begun because of the western music classes I took.
Confession time: music is an indispensable part of my life.
Now I’m not the kind of person who perennially has earphones plugged to ears, nor am I the kind who dances to tunes blaring from speakers. I adore music because it inspires me. Music makes me realize that we are much more than our puny earthly bodies. It transports us to the sublime, the ethereal; to another dimension where the worries and anxieties of the real world cease to exist. It is universal. For example, Mozart’s compositions are loved by people across the globe. A notable fan was Albert Einstein.
“Whenever he felt that he had come to the end of the road or run into a difficult situation in his work, he would take refuge in music,” recalled his older son, Hans Albert. “That would usually resolve all his difficulties.”
