Getting an opportunity to continue my postgraduate studies was a dream of mine. During the hunt for opportunities, I talked to a lot of people, attended many info sessions organized by my university (and elsewhere), and applied to many places.

Currently, I’m a second-year PhD student at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Every day I get a lot of questions about applying to higher education opportunities. Since many of them are repeated over and over again, I thought of sharing some answers based on my experiences for the benefit of all…

Why select Singapore for higher studies?

NTU and NUS are ranked high amongst universities around the world. According to the 2020 QS World University Rankings, the two universities share the 11th rank. The universities are equipped with top-notch research facilities and faculty members. Singapore is a global economic hub and one of the safest countries in the world.
