Quite a lot, just as I expected.
As of today, I’m a first-year PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program. But as a nineties kid born and bred in the beautiful little island called Sri Lanka, I loved this song and dreamt that one day, I too would make the world a better place.
There was one problem. I was an ordinary kid. My father owns a small business and my mother is a stay-at-home mom. I have one younger brother. I went to school just like any other kid. And I used to be really, really shy. But deep inside I wanted to “make the WORLD a better place”
It was during this confusing stage of my life that I had to undergo something called the “leadership training” just before starting studies at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka
One day, a trainer came up and said, “Children, this is your chance to share your talents. You can come up and perform anything you like; be it a speech, a drama or a song.
